Poll - Losing the faith?
Since 1966, the number of active priests in the Upper Peninsula has declined from 151 to 56, a decrease of more than 60 percent.
This is also a national trend. In 1965, there were nearly 36,000 Diocesan priests in the United States. Forty years later, the number was down to about 29,000.
Bishop Alexander Sample of the Catholic Diocese of Marquette credits the decline to an increasing "secularization" of society.
Tonight in the Daily Pulse, we're wondering: Do you think the Upper Peninsula has become more secular over the years? Yes or No.
