Poll: Sick Days for Part-timers
You know that coughing coworker you wish would stay home? Turns out, many Americans cannot afford to.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, nearly a third of the nation's employees cannot take sick days. While most full-timers get paid sick days, only a fraction of part-time workers get them. The Centers for Disease Control estimates that even a typical flu season costs companies about $10.4 billion in direct costs for hospitalizations and outpatient visits for adults.
Tonight in the Daily Pulse we're wondering: Should employers be required to grant part-time workers paid sick days? Yes or no? Why or why not?
