M ichigan lawmakers are moving forward in requiring drug tests for certain welfare recipients.
T he Republican House Bill passed today, establishes a suspicion-based drug testing pilot program for recipients of state cash assistance.
T he year-long pilot would begin in at least three counties.
T he bill requires the Department of Human services to screen applicants and recipients for suspicion of substance abuse.
