The Upper Peninsula Power Company reported several outage areas on Wednesday morning, showing roughly 1,300 customers without power at the peak.
Houghton and Keweenaw customers dealt with power outages while UPPCO attempted to reach the problem areas. According to officials, a crew patrolling the area on snowmobiles discovered a broken cross arm, but utility trucks were unable to get to the remote area due to snow and terrain.
Crews on snowmobile worked on fixing the issue, but UPPCO made attempts to reroute power so that residents south of Ahmeek could see power sometime Wednesday morning. Power has since been restored to the area.
