Professional anglers from across the country will be walleye fishing in the Bays de Noc starting Friday.
Escanaba is the third and final stop on the Cabela's National Walleye Tour before the championship. About 100 boats with two anglers each are expected to participate in the event. Over $300,000 will be awarded in cash and prizes.
"You've got some old veterans that are still very wily walleye fishermen against some of the youngest, hottest anglers in the country facing off starting tomorrow here in Bay de Noc," says Chip Leer, stage host of the tour.
The community is encouraged to watch the weigh-ins starting at 3 p.m. in the Ludington Park Harbor.
