Program buys back Halloween candy, sends to deployed U.S. troops

The John Fornetti Dental Center in Iron Mountain is participating in a program to satisfy the troops overseas who have a sweet tooth.

On November 1, anyone can come into the dental center with candy, which the center will buy back for $1 a pound. The candy will then be sent overseas to deployed U.S. service members as part of Operation Gratitude.

"A few of us here have gotten into it and we always want to give back to who is giving to us, and our troops, if this can support them in any way, we're all for that," said Karen Larson of the John Fornetti Center.

The buy back takes place between 3 and 5 p.m.
