Sunday marks the first day for Michiganâ??s snowmobile season, and the best part is many trails are ready to be ridden.
Michigan has more than 6,200 miles of designated snowmobile trails.
This time last year, there was no snow in most of Upper Michigan, delaying anyone wanting to ride.
Cloverland Motorsports in Ironwood said their business didn't start renting snowmobiles until the second week in January, resulting in a significant revenue loss.
"Then it kept snowing later and later in the season," said Gary Kuklinski, owner of Cloverland. "It was snowing until April."
"Everybody's doing their summer stuff in April," Kuklinski added.
The company said now, because of the early snowfall, they have over 30 rental reservations for this week.
