Protecting hunting and fishing rights from out-of-state organizations

A group called the Citizens for Professional Wildlife Management is seeking 300,000 petition signatures for legislation that would protect hunting and wildlife management.

The group claims the Humane Society of the United States is trying to remove certain hunting and fishing rights.

In response, the group wants to pass the Scientific Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act to make sure hunting and fishing decisions are made by the Natural Resources Commission and not the Humane Society.

"They're trying to stop various hunting and trapping around the U.S.," explained George Lindquist, U.P. Whitetails of Marquette County. "They are the largest anti-hunting organization in the country, so this is part of their agenda, to stop all hunting and fishing."Click here for more information on the petition.
