Sun, 02 Feb 2014 15:31:25 GMT — Sunday, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, and you know that means: six more weeks of winter. Of course for us here in the Upper Peninsula, this comes as no real surprise. On Sunday, the central U.P. will see plenty of sun, while everybody else will see scattered lake effect snow showers with a few peaks of sun. High temperatures will range anywhere from 10-15 degrees. Sunday night, temperatures drop like a rock here in the U.P. The western interior could fall past 10 degrees below zero overnight. The warmest temperatures will be along the Lake Superior shoreline where lows will be flirting with the zero degree mark. Monday will be warm as we see temperatures soar into the upper teens with a few areas reaching 20. Clouds will be on the increase throughout the day, but it will be rather quiet. We are not expecting much in the way of snow throughout the next week. Temperatures will moderate a little bit with consistent highs in the teens. All in all, this will be one of the more relaxed weeks weâ??ve experienced so far this winter.
