The Quincy Mine Association is currently showing tours of the historic Quincy Smelter Site in Hancock.
The Quincy Smelter Site is the only intact copper smelter from the early 20th century in America. It was constructed in 1898.
The association runs tours of the smelter once per month.
"All these old buildings such as this, the mine on the top of Quincy Hill are all part of that history that is important as port of what made this area what it is." said Horst Schmidt with the Quincy Smelter Association.
The next tour date is set for August 9th.
The tours run from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. and each tour takes about an hour to complete. They cost $5 per person.
