      Rapid River man may face life in prison

      The 29-year-old Rapid River man who was charged with six counts of indecent exposure could be facing life in prison. The incidents took place throughout Delta County over a two year span. Two of the incidents took place in Wells, one in Gladstone, two near Bay College, and the most recent one in Rapid River.

      Thomas Anthony LaVigne is facing five high-court misdemeanors. In addition, his most recent offence is aggravated indecent exposure by a sexually delinquent person. This felony carries the maximum time of life in prison. According to court documents, a sexually delinquent person is someone â??whoâ??s sexual behavior was characterized by repetitive or compulsive acts which indicate a disregard of the consequences.â??

      According to court documents, LaVigne is also considered a habitual offender because of an event that took place in May 2006. He was convicted of the felony, larceny in a building.

      LaVigne remains lodged in the Delta County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court on May 22.
