Read with cuddly canines at the library

A special event is taking place at the Dickinson County Public Library on Saturday and already has kids excited. Children will have the chance to read with dogs.

Two therapy dogs will be around on Saturday to hang out with kids who choose to read aloud with cuddly canines. This is the first year the library has done this program, and those in charge say they've heard about other libraries doing it, so they thought they'd give it a try.

??If readers are maybe struggling or just not as confident reading aloud to another adult or another sibling, it helps kids just to break down all of their defenses,?? said preschool specialist, Ginnie Adams. If you??re interested in signing up for a 15-minute reading slot, call the library at (906) 774-1218.
