Real estate agency selects school for clothing donations

Some kids in Gwinn will soon have some new winter gear.

On Monday morning, Select Realty from Marquette dropped off clothing donations at Gwinn High School.

Every year Select Realty collects winter clothing to donate, and this year they donated it to Gwinn and Gilbert Elementary Schools.

The business collected jackets, hats, gloves, and much more. School officials say it was much needed, as some students may not have any winter clothing.

"It was amazing," said Joelle Olson of Select Realty. "People came in and donated jackets and boots. I think we have 25 jackets, 14 pairs of snow pants. It was amazing; I mean we didn't expect it."

"I continue to be in awe of the tremendous generosity of the people in our area, and we're just so grateful and so appreciative that we're the recipients of these great donations," added Superintendent Kim Tufnell.

The items will be distributed between the two schools, depending on the need decided on by the principals. The staff from Select Realty hopes to do it again next year.
