The Redeemer Lutheran Church is holding their annual Vacation Bible School this week.
The Bible School happens only one week over the summer. The school meets every morning from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. for children ages four to twelve. This year the church has over 400 kids registered as well as 180 volunteers.
Each morning the school starts with a group Mass before splitting up into age groups for Bible study, arts and crafts and games. At the end of the day the group meets for a closing Mass.
"I think for the community it's encouraging our kids and giving them something positive and strong to build their lives on," says Pastor Steve Hulke. "I think it's foundational as kids grow in years and also grow in being part of this community."
The Vacation Bible School is open to children who are members of the church as well as non-members. Every year the school brings in kids and volunteers from all over the country.
