Registration open for free youth hunting event

Kids excited about hunting will have an opportunity to go on a youth hunting event with mentors from Wildlife Unlimited of Iron County next month. The youth hunt, on September 21 and 22, is designed to allow kids who may have never hunted before to do so alongside a mentor.

Though it's encouraged, kids are not required to have a hunter safety certificate. Wildlife Unlimited has been sponsoring this event for many years, and coordinators say every year, the kids are ecstatic.

â??Oh, they love it,â?? said mentor, Larry Pifke. â??You can't express the feeling they get, the expression on their face when they shoot their first deer; heart-warming for me and for the kids to do it.â??

Wildlife Unlimited also has an opportunity for children with disabilities to be able to participate in the event. To register for the youth hunt, contact one of the representatives of Wildlife Unlimited for a registration form.
