Monday is Earth Day and Republic-Michigamme School celebrated with a look at green products and technology.
It was their second annual Earth Day Festival. This year featured 10 booths full of information and products that are environmentally friendly. Among them was a booth from the Marquette County Conservation District, featuring information on forests and the invasive garlic mustard plant. They were also displaying a vertical pallet garden, an easy way to keep an indoor or outdoor garden with limited resources."I think it's exciting to get people thinking about what they can do for the earth and for their local area," said Ally Dale, Native Plants Coordinator with the Marquette County Conservation District. The event is sponsored by St. Vincent de Paul of Republic. Money raised goes toward food and client aid.
