      Retro-style store comes to Marquette

A new, yet sort of old business has opened up on Washington Street in Marquette. Boomerang Retro & Relics sells unique, mid-century style clothing, furnishings and jewelry.

Mid-century enthusiasts collect and enjoy classic items from the time period of 1940 to 1960.

The business is not a consignment shop, but they offer the latest fashions and furnishings from online and national retro-inspired companies and brands.

The owner, who is a full-time mid-century enthusiast, hopes that the shop will give customers in the U.P. a nostalgic feeling, as well an appreciation for designs from the retro era.

"You know we've gotten a really good reception so far. We've only been open seven weeks and people are very excited about it, they're excited to have something new in the U.P. and they love to reminisce. They come in and these items I have are filled with memories for them, so that's really a lot of fun," says owner, Jessica Shull.

Boomerang Retro & Relics will have their grand opening event at the end of January.
