Amateur golfers tested their skills at the 20th annual Marquette Rotary Golf Outing Thursday. The event raises money for the YMCA of Marquette County as well as other local charities. More than a 150 business and community members participated in the event. In addition to the golf, there was a silent auction and live auction featuring items donated by local businesses.
"Our Rotary Club has been phenomenal," said Michele Butler of the Marquette Rotary. "We have had 100 percent participation, and that was our goal so that we can send this in to the Rotary International and share with them our story of establishing the Y, doing 20 years as a golf outing, and having 100 percent participation, and we have almost 100 members in our club."
Members of the Marquette Rotary say they hope to raise about $40,000 for the YMCA and other groups.
