RV park given new name to honor former Iron River city manager

The RV park in Iron River has a new name and a new sign to commemorate a past city manager.

The RV park is now named the Klint Safford Memorial Park. The former city manager passed away in 2003. Safford was instrumental in getting the RV park at its current location.

Family, friends, and co-workers were at the commemoration today to honor him and his service to the city.

"He worked on some other parks, too, but this one was a wetland and to have the vision for it to become an RV park where vehicles could come was really a terrific thing," says Dale Safford, Klint's wife. "Nice to see it come to completion and serve the city in such a good way."

Safford was the city manager of Iron River from 1974 to 1980.
