Sawyer International Airport has released passenger data for 2013, with an overall increase in traffic.
The airport announced on Monday that more passengers used the airport in 2013 than in the previous year. Sawyer reports that 83,799 passengers traveled using Sawyer International Airport in 2013, which is an increase of 10.26 percent over 2012.
According to officials, Sawyer currently maintains 40 percent of the passenger travel in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The airport cites extremely attractive air fares, which encourages passengers to use local air service.
The airport is looking to spur activity from corporate, charter, and general aviation operations in 2014.
