School makes program to repair century old auditorium

The Iron Mountain High School auditorium will celebrate 100 years of operation this year, and with those years come some much-needed repair to its seats.

That is why the school started the Take a Seat program. Anyone can purchase a seat in the auditorium for $175 to $200 to have it repaired and then named in your honor.

So far 302 seats have been sold and 390 are needed. School officials say it's a great way to preserve the history of the auditorium and can also make a unique gift.

"If you're thinking of a Christmas present for somebody, anniversary present or you want to honor somebody that is an Iron Mountain grad, please feel free to stop into the administrative office, and we will set you up," said Superintendent Tom Jayne.

You can view current available seating online by going to the school's website.
