School to raffle off Chevy Spark for fundraiser

Bishop Baraga Catholic School in Iron Mountain is raffling off a brand-new Chevy Spark for a fundraiser to help with professional development within the school.

The school is looking to improve curriculum and advance teacher development. Edwards Automotive has helped in supplying the Chevy Spark for the raffle.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at Edwards, the school, or area parishes.

"Singapore mathematics is our brand-new math program that is one of the top math programs in the whole world," said Principal Adam Husing. "We're also instituting a new writing series next year; it's called 'institute of excellence in writing' and these things cost money to get materials, plus train the teachers on how to teach it best effectively."

The official raffle drawing for the car will be on June 6.
