A new CEO has been announced to lead Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital into the future.
At Monday's Board of Trustees meeting, the retirement notice of current CEO George Montgomery was accepted. Montgomery served for five years as CEO and will officially retire at the end of September.
On Thursday night, the board, by unanimous vote, agreed on Tonya Hoar to serve a dual position of chief executive officer and chief financial officer.
"It was a unanimous decision of the board to bring Tonya back to really lead us in the future here as we struggle with all of the issues with the landscape of medical care delivery," said Don Perigo of the Board of Trustees.
Hoar served 15 years as chief financial officer of Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital. She has been gone one year to pursue other interests. Hoar will begin her role November 1.
