Sun, 28 Jul 2013 19:21:05 GMT — A fundraiser in Marquette had items selling like hotcakes on Sunday. In fact, they were hotcakes. Hotcakes for Hospice is a new fundraiser put on by Lake Superior Hospice, which provides end-of-life care in Marquette and Alger counties. Money raised goes to their Patient Care Fund which helps pay for expenses not covered by insurance. Despite the rainy weather, many people made the trip to Marquette's Lake Superior Theater for a full breakfast. "You know, we've been pleasantly surprised. When the rain started this morning, we thought, 'Oh my goodness. This is our worst case scenario,' but people just keep showing up. It's amazing, whether they just want to come support the agency, or have a great breakfast," said Carol Carr, C.E.O. of Lake Superior Hospice. Lake Superior Hospice officials say they want this to be an annual event.
