A traffic crash on US-41 in Negaunee Township across from the Michigan State Police Post closed off the both lanes of US-41 temporarily on Monday morning.
According to police, the driver of a Ford F-150 was unable to avoid a collision with a freightliner semi-tractor trailer at around 6:55 a.m. Police say that the freightliner was crossing US-41 when it was struck by the Ford. The driver of the freightliner, 33-year-old David Rushford, was cited for failing to yield the right-of-way.
The driver of the Ford, 57-year-old Edward Havel, was taken to Marquette General Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Police say that freezing rain was complicating efforts at the scene of the crash.
