Senator Debbie Stabenow visited the Iron Mountain VA Monday morning for a tour of new technology.
The senator visited newer additions to the facility, and spoke with resident veterans. She also had a glimpse of the Telehealth technology which is beneficial for rural residents.
She said she's impressed with the upgrades since her last visit four years ago.
"Iron Mountain has really been ahead of the curve in terms of quality and using Telehealth, being at the front end of dental services that help people get the care they need same day, as well as other kinds of services," says Stabenow. "There's a lot to be proud of here in the U.P. about serving veterans."
The senator also mentioned that recently passed legislation will add funding for more doctors and nurses in the area.
