      Sentencing delayed for accused murderer

Scene of murder in Marinette County, Wisconsin

A sentencing was scheduled on Tuesday for a man accused of murdering his girlfriend in Marinette County Circuit Court, but instead there was a delay.

Fifty-five-year-old Richard Heyer, accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend Ann Schueller back in August 2012, appeared in court on Tuesday for what was supposed to be his sentencing.

Heyer's attorney, Jeffrey Jazgar, made a motion to reschedule sentencing after difficulty they had in receiving some of Heyer's medical records. Prosecutor Allen Brey said the motion was fair.

The judge said even though the charges carry life in prison, he would grant the request to the defense. Heyer's new sentencing date is August 22 at 1 p.m.
