Dungeons, dragons and female warriors are all apart of the epic play She Kills Monsters.
The play tells the story of Agnes Evans, a young woman who leaves her hometown following the death of her sister and is catapulted into a journey where she becomes a warrior.
"You have this incredibly exciting dynamic of a young woman trying to get in touch with a younger sister that she lost when she was a teenager" says director, Shelley Russell.
The thought-provoking story line is sure to capture audiences imaginations, but there's no shortage of action and drama.
"There's fantastic fights and we do some black light work. There's a fantastic final fight with a five headed dragon. It's really fantastic and the costumes are out of this world" adds, lead actress, Cecelia Holt.
The play's director says the show offers a heart-pounding homage to the geek and warrior within us all.
There's also an element of empowerment as the lead female character becomes stronger when she travels into another dimension to save her sister's soul.
"That's in the environment of a world where the women are challenged to be heroes. So, when she faces her fears about her younger sister is when she faces the dragon" Shelley Russell.
She Kills Monsters runs at Forest Roberts Theatre April 16-19.
Show times start at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday- Friday and 1 p.m. on Saturday.
