      Sheriff's Office Looking for Search and Rescue Volunteers

      T he Marquette County Sheriff's Office is looking for volunteers to help out with the Search and Rescue Unit. Qualified applicants must have a clean driving record and clear a background check. Members must also be able to handle physical demands of walking long distances and staying outside overnight. Currently the unit has about 20 members and would like to be between 25 and 30.

      " W e can rehab people, we can rotate people out because the team members are going to need breaks and they can't got 24/7 during a search ," Captain David Lemire said. "T hat gives us the opportunity to set up our teams the way we could so people are getting breaks and that we're not burning out those search teams."
