A suspect is in police custody after a shooting incident in Marinette on Thursday.
Marinette City Police were called to the 200 block of E. Bayshore Street at 5:10 p.m. CDT. A male victim had been shot in the arm. Upon arrival, they found a 37 year-old man with a gunshot wound to his right arm. He was taken to the hospital, with a serious yet non-life threatening injury.
Witnesses told police that the suspect in the shooting fled from the scene in a black, 2000 Chevrolet Blazer. Just before 8:00 p.m. CDT, a deputy with the Marinette County Sheriff's Department found the suspect vehicle traveling on Highway 180 in Porterfield, Wisconsin. The vehicle was stopped and the suspect taken into custody.
The suspect is a 50 year-old man. His name has not been released pending arraignment. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation.
