      Shots fired, police respond

      UPDATE: 10:30 p.m.

      The suspect has been identified as 37-year-old Bobby Joe Nordstrom. He was arraigned Monday on charges of felon in possession of a firearm, felonious assault, possession of a firearm while intoxicated and being a habitual offender.

      Bond was set at $5,000. He is scheduled to be back in court July 16 for a preliminary hearing.


      Authorities responded to an incident involving a man arguing with family members and firing two shots, according to the Iron County Sheriff's Department.

      The Iron County Sheriff's Department responded to a report of an armed man in Iron River Township on Sunday afternoon.

      According to police, the suspect was fighting with family members, grabbed a gun and fired two shots. He then barricaded himself in a relative's house.

      A brief standoff with police ended when the suspect eventually surrendered himself to police.

      He is currently jailed, waiting arraignment on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm under the influence of alcohol.
