      Six injured in two separate motorcycle crashes

      Two separate motorcycle crashes in Ontonagon County Saturday resulted in injuries.

      Collin Werth of New Franken, Wisconsin was traveling on Co Rd. 107 near South Boundary Rd. via motorcycle when he attempted to make a U-turn. He was struck by another motorcycle traveling with him.

      The second motorcycle was driven by David Blackman of Green Bay , Wisconsin. Blackman had taken his eye off the road to look at the scenery and observed Werth in front of him, slowing to make U-turn. Werth attempted to stop but was unable to stop in time, striking Werth on the left side.

      Both motorcycles had passengers. The collision resulted in all occupants being ejected from the motorcycles. Injuries to the passenger on Werth's bike, Carol Werth, and both occupants of the second bike, David and Lori Blackman, occurred as a result.

      The injured were transported by Sonco ambulance to Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital for treatment. In a separate crash, Andrew Peterson of Island Lake, Illinois was traveling on M-28 near Finn Town Rd. when the motorcycle he was driving blew a rear tire. Peterson lost control of the vehicle and tipped over, resulting in injuries to his passenger, Terry Peterson.

      Terry Peterson was transported to Aspirus Grand View Hospital in Ironwood.
