      Ski jumping preview

The Pine Mountain Ski Resort is putting the last finishing touches on their ski event as competitors practiced Friday for the tournament happening this weekend.

The weather was glorious--the sun was shining and the temperature was perfect.

Event coordinators are so excited for the tournament that they've decided to add another competition on Saturday, which would change the jump times.

Kiwanis Ski Club President, Nick Blagec, explains the change.

â??Our ski jumping tournamentâ?|we'll be starting official training at 9 in the morning and then we're going to have a competition at 10,â?? explained Blagec, â??then we're going to do the same thing all over again at 1 in the afternoon, at 1:30, so we're actually going to have two tournaments tomorrow.â??

Another reason for the change is the quality of the competitors.

â??We have got a very, very good line-up of foreign ski jumpers and American teams. Itâ??s going to be an outstanding tournament; the hill is in perfect condition and today is just gorgeous,â?? Blagec said.

Locals were already setting up their tailgating areas, and many came out to enjoy the practicing.
