St. Vincent de Paul in Gwinn held their 20th annual Christmas giveaway for those in need.
Community members, including the Gwinn High School cheerleading squad, got together to service 199 families and 210 children at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Gwinn. The families were able to come to the church to shop, free of charge, for new clothes, toys and games to put under the Christmas tree.
In addition to those items, the families were also supplied with food to help with their Christmas meals.
Father Allen Mott was overjoyed to see community members get involved in helping out with their neighbors in need.
"Interesting thing is it's a great lay apostolate; the lay people of the church do this work. It's just amazing to me to see that 200 families are getting wonderful gifts and food for the coming of Christ," says Father Mott.
Organizers say community members pour out gifts and donations each year without hesitation.
