Students at North Star Academy in Marquette have made a big donation to the Goodwill store on Wednesday.
Over the past three days students were encouraged to bring in items for donation. They brought in over 1,000 pounds of clothes, toys and household items.
The whole thing was arranged by Tiffany Bender, a freshman student at North Star, who already helps out at Goodwill.
"I go to community service at Goodwill and they told me that they need some more donations, so I thought of this idea...like have a competition here at school because I like to help other people," said Bender. "I think it's really cool."
This was the first year for the donations and grades k through 12 all contributed. The sixth grade class donated the most items.
