      Subway burglar arrested in Wisconsin

      The Escanaba Public Safety Department reports that an arrest has been made in the string of burglaries involving Subway restaurants.

      The two Subway restaurants in Escanaba were entered in the late evening/morning hours of December 12, 2012 with an undisclosed amount of money being stolen from the safes. The investigation led Public Safety to warn Upper Peninsula and Wisconsin law enforcement agencies of the potential threat for additional burglaries involving Subway restaurants.

      Acting on information from the Escanaba Public Safety Department, the Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin Police Department Safety arrested a 50-year-old male from Green Bay, Wisconsin for probation violation. The arrest led investigators to search the suspect??s vehicle, uncovering evidence linking him to the burglaries at the Escanaba Subways.

      This subject is suspected of being linked to numerous burglaries focusing on Subway restaurants throughout Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, and both North and South Dakotas.

      The combined efforts of all involved during the investigation have thwarted the continued crime spree by this individual.
