      Sunny skies ahead

The forecast is a pleasant one. High pressure is the main weather factor over the Great Lakes and it's giving us some nice weather.

For Monday, expect sunny skies all around. The only exception may be the Lake Michigan shoreline with that south wind. Skies there may be a little cloudier. Temperatures will be seasonable in the mid 60s.

Monday night's lows will fall only into the mid 40s, milder near the lakes and coolest inland. That means frost is less likely overnight. Skies will be clear.

Tuesday will see similar weather, perhaps a degree or two warmer. Highs again in the mid to upper 60s under mostly sunny skies. Lows in the 40s.

Wednesday will see more highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s under mostly sunny skies.

Thursday will likely breach the 70 degree mark and things begin to warm up. Skies will again be mostly sunny.

Friday will be the warmest day of the week with highs likely in the 70s, but a cold front sometime Friday or early Saturday will likely bring rain and possibly thunderstorms for the weekend.

Please send us your fall colors pictures and we may show them on the air as Pride of the U.P. photos! For more weather info, follow me on Facebook and Twitter.

Lastly, over the weekend I posted a story about the autumnal equinox and a recap of the summer. In it, I asked commenters to guess when they think we'll have the first snow of the season. Place your guess and we'll see who gets the right date!
