A Green Bay man has been arraigned after he led police on a pursuit in Marquette over the weekend. Police had to use a stun gun to stop 37-year-old Scott Michael Upson around 12:05 Saturday morning.
The Marquette County Sheriff's Office said Upson was driving a Toyota Highlander and was pulled over for a traffic violation on County Road 550 and Sugarloaf Mountain. The man stopped his vehicle and then continued northbound until he reached the entrance of Wetmore Pond. The vehicle was boxed in with patrol cars, but the man continued to back up and move forward.
The driver would not follow commands to turn off and exit the vehicle so the man was tased. He was arrested and taken to the Marquette County Jail for fleeing and eluding, resisting and obstructing, OWI, and driving with a revoked license. He was arraigned for these charges on Monday morning in Marquette County District Court.
As of Tuesday morning, Upson remained in jail on a $25,000 bond. He is scheduled to be back in court on Friday, August 30 at 3:00 p.m. for a preliminary hearing.
