Teen pleads guilty to breaking into store

      Gas station in Shingleton, Michigan

One of the teenagers who broke into the Oasis Gas Station in Shingleton in April pled guilty on Monday morning in Alger County Circuit Court. Eighteen-year-old Ruben Sifuentes of Munising was charged with breaking and entering a building with intent.

On Sunday, April 28, Sifuentes and 17-year-old Brandon Monroe entered the gas station around 4 a.m. The store's owner, a military veteran, was still inside and saw the teens trying to steal money from an empty cash register. He confronted the two teens with a loaded gun. The teens fled, and the store owner called 911.

Monroe pled guilty in June. Both teens will be sentenced on August 16 at 10 a.m.
