Arctic air makes its return behind a cold front that is passing through the Upper Peninsula Sunday morning.
Expect snow showers in the north throughout the day. Not much in the way of accumulation, but enough that there are Lake Effect Snow Advisories for Alger, Luce, and Northern Schoolcraft counties until 7 a.m. Tuesday. A few areas will be susceptible to receiving a foot of snow over the course of the next couple of days. After the cold front passes through, an arctic high pressure builds in the west, and temperatures will decrease throughout the day.
The cold air we will experience the next few days won't be as extreme as the blast we just got over, but it will be a little uncomfortable. In addition to the cold temperatures, we will see a steady stream of lake effect snow along Lake Superior for the next couple of days.
Our next chance for system snow doesn't come until Wednesday, which will also warm us up a little bit as well. Another system will roll through the area late Thursday and into Friday. Temperatures appear to get closer to average as we get to next weekend.
