The last of the four finalists for the new President of Northern Michigan University was on campus Tuesday.
Dr. Cynthia Pemberton is currently the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Dickinson State University in North Dakota.
She says she applied for the President's job for three reasons.
She loves the overall quality of the University, she believes she "fits in" well, and she likes the range of education available to students.
"I think one of the things that brings a ripeness for my ability to hopefully be successful in this position, is that I've had a variety of roles, responsibilities in the academic setting. I've been a faculty member, I've been a Department Chair, I've been an Associate Dean, an Interim Dean and now in the Provost position," said Pemberton.
Tomorrow a feedback session will be held in the Peter White Lounge.
NMU hopes to have a new President in place by July first.
