The Lions Club of Chatham put on their own version of Pump Up the Dome Saturday at Superior Central High School in Eben Junction.
This event was a bit smaller than the one at the Superior Dome in Marquette, but there were still plenty of kids bouncing around the gym.
Saturday was used as a membership drive for the club to gain more members. It was also a way for the club to give back to the community. One of the ways they did that was with free vision screening for the children.
"It's a camera that takes 20 different tests on your eyes in seven-tenths of a second, and it tells us if the child needs to go see an eye doctor or if it passes," said Tom Moore, President of the Chatham Lions Club.
It was the first time an event like this was put on by the club. The event was free for the public, but it is believed that there could be a small fee to help alleviate the cost in the future.
