The Packers Tailgate Tour came to the U.P. State fair grounds Tuesday night. Six current and former players volunteered their time to support a great cause and visit with U.P. Packer-backers.
â??Iâ??m a die-hard Packer fan,â?? said attendant Jill Boudreau. â??Itâ??s nice to see things come to the area. We donâ??t get a lot here. Escanabaâ??s not as big as Wisconsin, so when we get something like this, itâ??s very exciting for the community.â??
Proceeds from the tour benefited Lakestate Industries. This organization provides employment assistance to people with disabilities. Volunteers from the organization helped run this event, and in some cases, the whole family showed up.
â??A lot of my family has been involved with Lakestate Industries for years,â?? said volunteer Kara Morehouse. â??Itâ??s a great organization.â??
The tailgate tour was not just a fundraiser, it was excitement for the whole family. There were games, giveaways, and much more.
â??Iâ??m here because I really wanted to meet the packer players,â?? said attendant Sydney Ebsch. â??I wanted to get a lot of autographs and because I love the packers so much!â??
But, at the end of the night, all 1,000 Packer fans in attendance seemed to say the same thing.
