The Rapid River man stabbed by his stepdaughter is charged

The Rapid River man stabbed by his stepdaughter last August was sentenced at the Delta County Circuit Court.

According to court documents, 64-year-old Clyde Hardwick received 30 days in jail and 24 months of probation for maintaining a drug house, a high court misdemeanor.

A delay of sentencing was given on one misdemeanor charge of domestic violence. Three other charges were dropped in exchange for Hardwickâ??s plea.

Last summer, Michigan State Police determined, through evidence and statements collected at the crime scene, that Hardwickâ??s 20-year-old stepdaughter was possibly acting in self defense.

During the investigation, police discovered the weapon as well as an illegal marijuana growing operation.
