The U.P. version of a classic board game

The Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Chamber of Commerce has come up with a local spin on a classic board game. It's called Yoopopoloy, the Upper Peninsula version of Monopoly. Businesses in the Negaunee and Ishpeming area sponsored the game. The board features local businesses that players can purchase to try and win the game.

"If you've lived around here your whole life, the landmarks on the front of the board and all these businesses, a lot of people are going to have personal connections to this," said Ashley Geist from the GINCC. "Living in the U.P., it's really just kind of a fun way to promote the west end."

During next week's Festival of Treasures in Ishpeming, the game will be made available to the public for $25.
