The Michigan State Police responded to a possible breaking and entering at the Chamberlin's Inn in Portage Township on Tuesday to discover the suspect trapped in her own vehicle.
According to police, the 42-year-old Curtis woman lost her keys and became locked within her own vehicle after allegedly stealing items from the inn at around 7:35 a.m. Police say that the woman was unable to leave the vehicle because the door lock latches inside were broken, leaving her trapped.
The woman allegedly stole food, dishes, silverware and other consumable goods from the inn, according to police. There were two people staying in the inn at the time of the alleged theft.
The woman was arrested for home invasion and larceny and was taken to the Mackinac County Jail. Her name is not being released, pending arraignment.
