No decision yet on plans for road construction in Ishpeming.
The Ishpeming City Council saw two designs Wednesday night for the proposed Second and Third Street connector. One option is a roundabout; the other is more of a thru-way for traffic on US-41.
The options were brought to council members for a decision and approval. They needed the decision for a grant letter to obtain project funding. However, council members weren't sure they were ready to decide on the connector road Wednesday night.
"After looking at the grant application, what we can do if you decided not to make a decision tonight is we can still submit for this grant application and just submit the amount for the larger option, which would be option B, the roundabout, in this case," said Steve Wright, Project Manager for OGM Advisors.
Council members voted to keep the design options on the table.
They'll, however, seek funding for the more expensive roundabout to go in front of the US National Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame.
