Ishpeming gave thousands of people the chance to take a step back in time for their annual Renaissance Festival Saturday. Performers held a sparring event where swordsmen fought to the death as crowds cheered them on. The event also gave kids the opportunity to get their faces painted at Kids Castle. Madison Cork came with her family to the festival and after playing a few games, she decided to make a wand. "I put hot glue up here and then I just twirled it with my scissors and then I put a dab of glue up here and I wrapped this around. Then I put a dab of glue down here with a marble on the top," said Cork. Many people also dressed up in medieval costumes for the festival.
This the 14th year for the event.
