Thousands of Upper Peninsula residents are without power Friday morning. Heavy snow has caused power lines in many regions to snap.
For customers of Upper Peninsula Power Company, hard hit areas include Gwinn, Forsyth Township, Little Lake, and Republic. WE Energies reports power trouble in Sagola and Brampton.
Nearly 1,700 customers remain without power as of 9:30 a.m. Friday.
Crews are out making repairs. However, as of 2:00 a.m. Friday, no word on when service will be restored.
