      Three in custody after drive-by shooting

      Three suspects are in custody following a drive-by shooting.

      The shooting happened around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday at a residence on the 500 block of Center St. in Marquette. When authorities arrived on the scene, they interviewed the owner of a home who stated that the front window had been shot out by a known group of people driving by.

      Neighbors of the home confirmed they heard the gunshot and witnessed a vehicle leaving the scene.

      Officials confirmed that the front window had been shot out by what appeared to be a shotgun.

      At around 4:24 a.m., a Marquette police officer spotted the suspect vehicle on S. Front Street in Marquette. The vehicle, containing several suspects, was stopped.

      A 17-year-old Marquette man and his twin brother were arrested and lodged on possession of drug charges, according to authorities. A 21-year-old Marquette man was arrested and lodged on warrants for parole violation. The 21-year-old man is the prime shooting suspect.

      The names of the subjects are being withheld at this time pending further investigation.

      The Marquette City Police were assisted by NMU Public Safety and the Michigan State Police.

      Police are asking anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the department at 228-0400.
